Starting, interrupting, canceling jobs

The workflow for restoration is as follows:

You control and start manufacturing with DentalCNC. In this chapter, we will give you a brief overview. For the complete instructions, see the documentation for DentalCNC.

Before you can machine blanks, you need to prepare the machine. The corresponding jobs must have been transferred to DentalCNC where they display in the job list.

Starting jobs

  1. Ensure the following:
  2. Close the working chamber door.
  3. For dry machining: If you manually control the suction unit, switch it on and set it to the required level.

  4. Start machining via the depicted icon in DentalCNC.
    • For dry machining: The suction unit is running.

      Machining starts.

Interrupting and continuing machining

DentalCNC allows you to resume the job from the last machining step. For more information, see the corresponding documentation.

Aborting machining

  1. Select one of the following icons:

    Abort machining immediately

  2. Confirm the current message.
    • The following happens:
    1. Machining stops according to your selection.
    2. DentalCNC asks whether the tool in the spindle can be safely inserted into the tool magazine.

If inserting the tool would damage the tool magazine inserts, the tool must be removed manually.

  3. If you want the machine to automatically put the tool into the tool magazine, confirm the dialog.

If you want to remove the tool manually from the collet chuck, answer the question in the negative.

  4. If the spindle has moved into the tool change position, continue with the next step.
  5. CAUTION!Wear gloves.

  6. Open the working chamber door.
  7. Hold the tool in the collet chuck in place.

  8.

  9. Confirm the current message.
    • The collet chuck opens.
  10. Remove the tool from the collet chuck.

  11. Close the working chamber door.
  12. Confirm the current message.
    • The following happens:
    1. The collet chuck closes.
    2. If your machine is equipped with an automatic working chamber door, the door automatically closes.
    3. The spindle moves to its default position.

Job interruptions and job abortions

A job will be interrupted in the following cases:

  • The compressed air supply is not sufficient
  • The vacuum in the working chamber is not sufficient
  • For wet machining: The cooling liquid flow is not sufficient

An interrupted job will normally be continued automatically after the error is corrected.

A job will be aborted in the following cases:

  • In case of a machine malfunction
  • In case of a tool breakage
  • In case of a power failure

If a job was aborted, you have to restart it.
