Using Ivoclar Ivotion discs with vhf dental machines

Supported machines

Ivoclar Ivotion discs can be used with the following vhf dental machines:

  • E5

  • K5 / K5+

  • R5

You need a specific Ivotion mounting aid for each machine type. The corresponding retrofit kits are available from customer service. Overview of retrofit kits

Validated Ivotion-Strategies

The following validated Ivotion-Strategies are currently available:

Strategy for monolithic Ivotion-Round blanks

Monolithic Ivotion-Discs combine tooth and denture base material.

Advantages:

  • High quality of the overall prosthesis.

  • No gluing necessary.

  • Shortest processing time of all validated Ivotion-Strategies through only 1 milling process.

Disadvantage:

Not suitable for all patient cases.

Monolithic Ivotion-Round

Strategy for the Ivotion-Oversize process

The Ivotion-Oversize process uses 2 discs for the production of dentures:

  • Ivotion Base: Gingiva-colored disc for the denture base.

  • Ivotion Dent: Tooth-colored disc for the dental arch. With the addition Multi also available as a multi-layer blank.

Advantages:

  • Suitable for most patient cases.

  • Adhesive residues are also removed.

  • High quality like monolithic discs.

Disadvantages:

  • The dental arch and the basic denture must be glued together.
  • Longest processing time of all validated Ivotion-Strategies through 3 milling processes.

Workflows for Ivotion-Strategies

Each of the validated Ivotion-Strategies has its associated workflow.

Monolithic Ivotion-Rounds

In monolithic Ivotion-You mill discs in 1 job.

  1. Order for total prosthesis in DentalCAM create, nest, calculate.

  2. Monolithic Ronde with the help the Ivotion-Clamp the clamping aid and mill the job.

Ivotion-Oversize process

At the Ivotion-Oversize process mill 3 jobs.

  1. Order 1 for gear ring in DentalCAM create, nest, calculate.

  2. Ivotion Dent-Ronde without Ivotion-Clamp the clamping aid and pre-mill job 1.

Only bonding surfaces are smoothed, other surfaces are roughened.

  3. Order 2 for denture base in DentalCAM create, nest, calculate.

    • DentalCAM automatically creates order 3 for the entire prosthesis.

  4. Ivotion Base-Round without Ivotion-Clamp the clamping aid and pre-mill job 2.

    • Only bonding surfaces are smoothed, other surfaces are roughened.

    • For precise re-clamping, flat surfaces are milled into the edge of the blank.

  5. Bond the dental arch and denture base.

  6. Ronde with total prosthesis with the help the Ivotion-Clamp the clamping aid and fine-mill job 3.

Ivotion-Round blanks using the Ivotion-Clamp the clamping aid

Monolithic Ivotion-Discs and discs with complete prosthesis in the oversize process (order 3) you clamp with the help the machine-specific clamping aid.

NOTICE

Unusable machining results and tool damage due to incorrectly aligned Ivotion-Round blanks

Monolithic Ivotion-Discs and discs with complete prosthesis in the oversize process must be precisely aligned using clamping aids. Otherwise, work will be milled incorrectly and tools may break.

The images show the monolithic Ivotion-Round. The procedure for the disc with total prosthesis in the oversize process is identical.
