Using the ionizer

The workflow for restoration is as follows:

Deactivating and activating the ionizer

The ionizer considerably reduces the required cleaning effort after dry machining. However, using the ionizer also contributes to the overall compressed air consumption of the machine.

You can decide whether you want to activate or deactivate the ionizer via DentalCNC. This is a general setting that will affect all jobs that you machine.

  • To deactivate or activate the ionizer, do the following:
  1. Start DentalCNC.
  2. Open the DentalCNC Application settings with the following icon in the main icon bar:
  3. Open the General settings with the following icon in the local icon bar:
  4. Deactivate or activate the Ionizer activated option.

Mounting and removing the ionizer cover

The ionizer can only operate during dry machining. A removable cover provides protection from moisture during wet machining. You need to remove the ionizer cover for dry machining and mount it for wet machining.

NOTICE

Machine damage if you do not mount or remove the ionizer cover as required

If the ionizer cover is not mounted for wet machining, the cooling liquid can cause a short circuit and damage the machine. If the ionizer cover is not removed for dry machining with ionizer, the compressed air from the ion jets can create an overpressure and damage the machine.

  • Before you start wet machining, mount the ionizer cover.
  • Before you start dry machining with an ionizer, remove the ionizer cover.
  • Remove the ionizer cover for machining with ionizer:
  1. Open the working chamber door.
  2. Switch off the machine at the main power switch.
  3. Pull down the ionizer cover (marked orange) at the rear side, and remove it from the ionizer.

  1. Place the cover in the storage area above the ionizer. If applicable: Position the recesses (marked blue) of the cover onto the pins (marked orange) of the storage area.

    • The ionizer cover is held in place by magnets.
  • Mount the ionizer cover for wet machining:
  1. Open the working chamber door.
  2. Switch off the machine at the main power switch.
  3. Remove the ionizer cover from the storage area, by pulling the upper edge towards yourself.
  4. Place the cover onto the ionizer. Position the recesses (marked blue) of the cover onto the pins (marked orange) of the ionizer.
