Exchanging or topping up the cooling liquid

DANGER

Electric shock due to liquid

If liquid comes into contact with live parts, this significantly increases the risk of electric shock.

  • Always disconnect the wet grinding module from the electrical source before removing the module insert.

  • If you want to remove the cooling liquid hose, always pull it out of the wet grinding module, not out of the milling machine.

Filling up with cooling liquid

Refill the cooling liquid if the display shows that the cooling liquid level is too low.

  1. Remove the module insert from the housing and place it upright.

  2. Check how dirty the coarse filter mat and the fine filter cartridge are each time you remove the module insert.

  3. Measure the pH value of the cooling liquid.

    • Determine the pH value of the cooling liquid directly after adding the cooling lubricant and when you didn’t use the machine for 2 days.
    • To determine the pH value of the cooling liquid with test strips, do the following:

Test strips are available from customer service.

    1. Hold one test strip into the cooling liquid for a few seconds.
    2. Compare the colors on the test strip with the indications on the container of the pH test strips.
      • The colors on the test strip match the pH value 9 on the container.

Used pH test strip (right) and indications on the container

    1. The pH value as indicated on the container
    2. Colors as indicated on the container
    3. pH test strip that was used to test the cooling liquid
    • If the pH value is below 9, add the cooling liquid consisting of water and 5% cooling lubricant until there is a total of 15 l (fill level approx. 180 mm) in the cooling liquid tank.

    • If the pH value is between 9 and 9.5, add tap water until there is a total of 15 l in the cooling liquid tank again.

  4. Insert the module insert into the housing.

Exchanging the cooling liquid and cleaning the cooling liquid tank

  1. Remove the module insert from the housing and place it upright.

  2. Remove the cooling liquid tank.

  3. Dispose of the remaining cooling liquid. Disposal

  4. Clean the coarse filter. Cleaning the coarse filter

  5. Clean the cooling liquid tank with a cloth.

  6. Reinsert the cooling liquid tank.

  7. Fill in cooling liquid. Filling the cooling liquid

  8. Insert the module insert into the housing.
