Operation: Executing jobs

How do I start machining? How can I start milling? How can I start grinding?

You control and start manufacturing with DentalCNC. In this chapter, we will give you a brief overview. For the complete instructions, see the documentation for DentalCNC.

NOTICE

Damage to the machine when using damaged tools and blanks

If tools or blanks are damaged, parts can break off and damage the machine during job execution.

  • Check the blanks and tools thoroughly for damage before every job execution.
NOTICE

Damages to the machine caused by spindle collision

If the blank holder is open while the axes of the machine are moving, the spindle and the blank holder may be damaged by a collision.

  • Before switching on the machine, executing a job or moving the spindle via DentalCNC, close the blank holder firmly with the left and / or right blank holder lever.

When you have prepared your jobs and your machine, you can start machining. Machining is a fully automated process and only requires your attention in case of unexpected events.

Do not move the machine during job execution, otherwise the results may become imprecise.

Starting jobs

  1. Ensure the following:
    • You created a job on your CAM computerClosed The computer that is connected to your machine and which runs DentalCAM and DentalCNC.. It has been transferred to DentalCNC.
    • All required tools are in the right positions in the tool magazine and are neither worn nor damaged. They have also been added to the virtual tool magazine in DentalCNC.
    • The required blanks are mounted.
    • If you want to work with an ionizer: The option Ionizer activated in DentalCNC is activated.
    • The compressed air supply is set correctly.
  2. Close the working chamber door.
  3. If you manually control the suction unit, switch it on and set it to the required level.

  4. Proceed as follows:

Start machining via the depicted icon in DentalCNC.

  5. Start machining via the depicted icon in DentalCNC.
    • The suction unit is running.

      Machining starts.

Aborting machining

  1. DentalCNC: Select the depicted icon.

  2. Confirm the current message.
    • The following happens:
    1. Machining stops immediately.
    2. DentalCNC asks whether the tool in the spindle can be safely inserted into the tool magazine.

If inserting the tool would damage the tool magazine inserts, the tool must be removed manually.

  3. If the spindle has moved into the tool change position, continue with the next step.
  4. CAUTION!Wear gloves.

  5. Open the working chamber door.
  6. Hold the tool in the collet chuck in place.

  7.

  8. Confirm the current message.
    • The collet chuck opens.
  9. Remove the tool from the collet chuck.

  10. If your machine is equipped with a manual working chamber door, close the door.
  11. Confirm the current message.
    • The following happens:
    1. The collet chuck closes.
    2. The spindle moves to its default position.
