DentalCNC settings for service technicians
Where are the Service and Service settings for service technicians?
Some settings are for authorized service technicians only. You can find these in a separate section.
- Open the DentalCNC Application settings with the following icon in the main icon bar:

Activate Service mode or higher. Access level
- Open the Settings for service technicians with the following icon in the local icon bar:
Like other features in DentalCNC, settings are machine-specific. If a specific setting doesn’t display, it is not available for your machine.
If your customer works with a different CAM application than DentalCAM, you need to activate the import method for external CAM data (NC files). There are 2 import methods available:
- The manual import method The user can manually select individual files.
- The automatic import method DentalCNC automatically imports all external NC files from a specific folder.
You can activate and deactivate each import method separately.
- To activate the manual import method for external CAM data, activate the Import icon for external CAM data option.

The user can use this icon to select the desired CAM files.
To activate the automatic import method for external CAM data, do as follows:
- Activate the Automatic import of NC files option.
- Specify the import folder by selecting the following icon to the right of the Import folder for NC files label:
- The following happens:
- The name of the selected folder is displayed below the Import folder for NC files label.
- DentalCNC will import any NC file in the selected folder and add it to the job list in the Machining view.
Manually importing NC files into DentalCNC
If the manual import of NC files is activated, you can import NC files as follows:
- Open the Machining view with the following icon in the main icon bar:
- Select the following icon:
- A window opens.
- Mark an NC file that is suitable for the connected machine and select the following icon:
- DentalCNC adds the selected job to the job list. You can process it as usual.
By default, DentalCAM stores the calculated job data in the CNCTransfer folder. DentalCNC uses the data in this folder to machine the jobs. You can change the folder e.g., to store all calculated job data in a network folder.
- Enter the folder for the calculated job data into the Folder for CAM data input field. Alternatively, select the following icon to the right of input field to open a file browser to navigate to the desired folder:
