Error code -9 – Insufficient vacuum
DentalCNC aborts the job and displays the error code.

Does restarting the suction unit and / or increasing the air extraction volume solve the problem?
How to check this:
- Increase the extraction level.
- If there is no effect, do the following:
- Switch off the suction unit. Wait 10 seconds.
- Switch on the suction unit.
Does cleaning and re-installing the suction hose solve the problem?
For further details, refer to the machine’s operating instructions.
How to check this:
- Disconnect the suction unit from the machine.
- Clean hose / hose connection and suction opening.
- Firmly re-insert the hose into the suction opening of the machine.
Can you feel the vacuum at the end of the disconnected suction hose?
How to check this:
- Disconnect the suction unit from the machine.
- Switch on the suction unit.
- Hold your flat hand in front of the end of the suction hose.
Does DentalCNC indicate that the vacuum is sufficient?
How to check this:
- Close the working chamber door.
- Open the Machining view. For this, select the following icon in the main icon bar:
- Ensure that the depicted icon in the lower right corner of the application window is highlighted.
Does re-calibrating the vacuum sensor solve the issue?
How to check this:
- Switch off the suction unit.
- Move the axes into the default position by selecting the depicted icon in the Machining view in DentalCNC.
- Open the Machining parameters view with the icon shown in the local toolbar.
- Move the axes into the tool change position by selecting the depicted icon in the Machining view in DentalCNC.
- Open the working chamber door.
- Wait 6 seconds.
- The vacuum sensor gets re-calibrated.
- Close the working chamber door.
- Switch on the suction unit.
- Ensure that the depicted icon in the lower right corner of the application window is highlighted.
- Restart the job.
Is the dust container of the suction unit full or the filter clogged?
How to check this:
- Refer to the suction unit’s operating instructions.
Is the working chamber door properly closed?
How to check this:
- Close the working chamber door.
- Check if the door is firmly in contact with the machine body.
Is the working chamber properly sealed?
How to check this:
- K4, K4 edition, S1, S2, S5: Check the working chamber gasket for damage.
- Open the working chamber door.
- Check the door and working chamber for missing or damaged sealing strips.
- Close the working chamber door.
- All machines: Check the view window for damage. Check if the window tightly sits in the door.

- Insert a clean / new filter into the suction unit or empty the container.
- Restart the job.

- Clean the muffler of the vacuum sensor.
- Install the suction unit and switch it on.
