General safety instructions

Intended use

The wet grinding module was developed to enable wet machining with the following vhf dental machines:

  • S5 / S5m

  • S2

  • S1

Do not use the wet grinding module with any other machine.

  • If you use the standard power supply unit of the wet grinding module, the cooling liquid connection of the dental machine must be located at the bottom of the connection panel.

  • If the cooling liquid connection of the dental machine is located at the top of the connection panel, use the power supply unit "RCD wet grinding module”. You can obtain the power supply unit from customer service.

The wet grinding module needs cooling liquid with cooling lubricant.

  • Add the cooling lubricant Tec Liquid Pro to the cooling liquid. The mixing ratio is indicated on the bottle label.

Incorrect operation of the machine

  • Before installation, putting into operation and maintenance of the machine, read all the documents provided for the machine.

  • If the use of the machine is unclear in whole or in part, do not use the machine and contact customer service.

  • Make sure that every user has access to this document.

  • Instruct every user on safe and proper machine handling.

Personal injury

Electric shock

Electric shock due to touching live parts

  • Only have qualified electricians work on any electrical equipment.

  • Make sure that an operational residual current device is installed on the electrical circuit of the machine.

  • Run electrical cables so that they cannot be damaged by sharp edges.

  • Check the power cable and the socket for damage before every startup.

  • In the following cases, disconnect the machine immediately from the electrical source and secure it against restarting:

  • When machine connections or electrical cables are damaged

  • When liquid is leaking

  • Before you check or run electrical cables

  • Do not touch the machine and especially the cables with wet or damp hands.

  • Do not place any liquid containers on the machine.

  • Never place any machines or devices that are electrically powered underneath the machine.

Electric shock when disconnecting the power cable with the main power switch in “ON” position.

  • Follow the following sequence:

  1. Switch off the machine at the main power switch.

  2. Disconnect the power cable.

Fire hazard

Unattended operation

  • Do not operate the machine unattended unless:
  • The working chamber of the machine is completely cleaned.
  • Unauthorized persons have no access to the machine.
  • The room in which the machine is located has an automatic fire detection system.

Cooling lubricant

Threat to your health and/or the environment from cooling lubricants

  • Only add the cooling lubricant Tec Liquid Pro to the cooling liquid. The mixing ratio is indicated on the bottle label.

Danger to health if the cooling lubricant is handled incorrectly

  • Read the safety data sheet before using the cooling lubricant.

  • When handling the cooling lubricant, always wear suitable protective clothing.

  • Always store the cooling lubricant in the original container.

Hearing loss and tinnitus due to regular loud working noises

Maintenance and troubleshooting

Risk of injuries from machine malfunctions due to inadequate or incorrect maintenance / troubleshooting

  • Perform the maintenance tasks according to the maintenance table.
  • Do not troubleshoot while the machine is running.

Spare parts, extra equipment and accessories

Risk of injury due to the module insert

  • When inserting the module insert into the machine, make sure that neither your fingers nor the fingers of other people are clamped.

  • Always insert the module insert into the machine with both hands.

Material damage

Machine damage due to moisture

The area of the housing in which the diaphragm pump and the fine filter housing are located must always remain dry.

  • Remove any liquid in this area.
