Viewing and restoring machined jobs in the job archive
Where can I see machined jobs? Can I restore machined jobs?
The job archive lists all jobs that have been machined with the CAM computer The computer that is connected to your machine and which runs DentalCAM and DentalCNC. since DentalCAM was installed. The job archive is useful for the following tasks:
- Viewing details about "old" jobs
- Viewing error codes when machining failed
- Restoring jobs to machine them again
- Open the Job list with the following icon in the main icon bar:
The table in the job archive contains the following columns:
- ID
A unique ID for the job within the archive
- Error code
If the job was not machined correctly, the error code displays here. If the job was machined without any recognizable error, OK displays.
- Start
Date and time when machining was started
- End
Date and time when machining was finished
- Duration
Machining duration in the format <hours:minutes>
- Blank type
The blank type used for the job
- Dimensions
The dimensions of the blank
- Height
The height of the blank
The following error codes may occur in the Error code column:
Error code | Description |
---|---|
Canceled by user | The user canceled machining via DentalCNC |
Disconnection | The connection to the machine was interrupted during machining |
Error while reading NC data | DentalCNC could not read the files with the calculated job data |
No tool available | At least 1 required tool was not in the tool magazine |
Tool breakage | A tool broke during machining |
Jobs are removed from the job list in the machining view after they have been machined, but their data are not immediately removed from the CAM computer The computer that is connected to your machine and which runs DentalCAM and DentalCNC.. This enables you to restore machined jobs via the job archive so that they display in the job list again. As job data take up a significant amount of disc space, DentalCNC automatically removes the data after a specific time period. You can specify this time period in the general application settings of DentalCNC.
Restoring jobs is useful in the following situations:
- You want to machine a successfully machined job again
- You want to move a failed job back onto the job list to machine it again
You restore jobs in the job archive as follows:
- In the table, select the job that you want to restore.
- Select the following icon:
- A dialog window opens. If the job data is still on the computer, DentalCNC prompts you to confirm the action. If the job data has already been deleted, DentalCNC informs you that the job cannot be restored.
- Confirm the current message.
- The following happens:
- The current dialog window closes. If DentalCNC couldn't restore the job, nothing else happens.
- If DentalCNC was able to restore the job, it is added to the job list in the machining view.
- The machining view opens.
- DentalCNC removes the job from the job archive.
